Do Boys Take Ballet Classes at Petite Ballet?

Absolutely. Petite Ballet classes are for everyone.

Boys are welcome in every Petite Ballet class, from our Grown Up & Me toddler classes through our early elementary Petite Academy program.

Dance, movement, and music offer valuable experiences for every child, and our classes provide boys and girls with the opportunity to move, create, imagine, and build confidence in a warm and encouraging environment.

Ballet Teaches More Than Ballet Steps

Young dancers are developing much more than technique when they come to class.

Ballet and creative movement can help children work on coordination, balance, strength, musicality, body awareness, listening skills, spatial awareness, confidence, creativity, and group participation.

At Petite Ballet, we also encourage qualities that extend well beyond the dance studio: kindness, bravery, perseverance, self-expression, and the confidence to try something new.

What Should Boys Wear to Ballet?

Boys may wear black leggings, a comfortable t-shirt in any color, and black ballet shoes.

Our priority is that every dancer feels comfortable, confident, and able to move freely.

A Place for Every Little Dancer

Whether your child loves music, can't stop moving around the living room, enjoys imaginative play, or simply wants to try something new, ballet can provide a wonderful outlet for their energy and creativity.

Petite Ballet offers children’s ballet and creative movement classes for ages 1.5 through 8 at Beam & Barre in Cos Cob, Greenwich, CT.
